标题: 81年生的，现在申请MBA,会不会年纪会不会太大了?
basic background:
graduated from Shanghai JiaoTong in 2003, bachelor in Computer Science, 3.2/4.0, GMAT 750

experiences:

one year as a software engineer for a silicon valley based IT startup company in Shanghai,

over 3 years as a pre-sales consultant in Oracle, solution selling and technical consulting in Asia countries,

currently got an offer as a project manager for a U.S. listed IT outsourcing firm in Shanghai,
building IT projects for big financial institutions in U.S.

actually my final destination is in finance/investment industry, I want to have that switch.

i am planning to apply for a Top tier MBA in US, not sure whether I am too old to join an IB/PE/HF after MBA graduation

I need your advice desperately. Thank.x

看了你的帖子，觉得的标题应该是“81年生的，现在申请MBA,毕业后做IB/PE/HF年纪会不会太大了?”

申请MBA正好吧，Columbia07平均工作时间5年平均年龄28。不知道你问这样的问题是对MBA不太了解还是出于什么目的。

至于做IB/PE/HF，你的年纪也不算大吧，而且重要的是其它方面，年轻也不见得就是优势。

我也是81年的。是工程背景。也希望能够申请2009年入学。也希望能够进入Banking，和楼主共勉。
我觉得因该还不会太晚的。 associate大多数都是在fresh mint MBA里招的，大多都是28， 29 这样吧。

年纪大不大这样的问题是说明对自己没有信心吧，我觉得LZ就是要多明确一点自己想做什么，想要什么，这样比较好。

81 is so still on the younger end of the spectrum for a guy to enter an MBA program

you'd only be 28 when you enter bschool.

the average age for an MBA entering class is 28 - with most girls being younger than 28, and guys older than 28.

so chill out!

我觉得国外对于入学，似乎没有什么年龄概念

而中国人似乎太在乎什么年龄该干什么事了

我觉得每个选择读mba，或出国深造的人

你最得明白的一件事就是你读完之后干什么？

你的职业规划？除了读mba是否还有更适合的职业规划？

读书永远都只是过程，而不是最终目的。

只有一点，记住我们没有时间可以浪费。

这个标题太让我震撼了。年龄不是问题。

然而，你咋就可以一下子从一个IT工作者，朝Finance/Investment金融家转变呢？之中的动机和你的想法是个问题。
毕竟光光念一个MBA可能帮不了太大的忙
