谁能比较一下duke vs. U of Virginia?
Darden

Dardan is top 10 B-school in the U.S. and is one of the most important core schools in management consulting and investment banking industries.
it's highly regarded in top consulting firms like McKinsey and investment banking like Goldman Sach, Morgan Stanley and others in Wall Street.
Darden's curriculum is also more committed in MBA program design, more sophisticated and well-rounded in general management, leadership, marketing communication, and finance management.
Entrepreneurship is a solid new highlight with deep commitment.
Strongly well-connected across multidisplinary management strategy and tactics.
Emphasize on quantitative analysis and consulting tools.
Case study is one particular highlight, but it depends on personal taste.

you can see the commitment when faculty explain the details of program design in 2nd-yr.
Duke is strong national school, generally ranked around 20. Emphasize on teamwork.
Good general management but a bit less sophisticated than Darden.
Particularly strong in bio-tech and medical industry.
Some people believe Fuqua is a great marketing school since lots of health sector giants have strong preference for Fuqua graduates.

UVA是去年给的defer offer, 所以我今年要去;
What worries me a lot is that I might have difficulties finding jobs after graduation... Will my AICPA certificate (not a CPA license) help in any way? What will my career prospects be like in two years' time?

First, Cong on your offers from both excellent schools. As current school of Duke, I have no hands-on clue for UVA program although I also got offer from UVA when I applied. Just provide 2 cents of general thoughts about MBA education.
Without much working experience, you would surely suffer from highly case-oriented method at UVA. I would argue that 1 yr and 2 yr w/e do have difference, but in my opinion, you are still too young to receive MBA education. Without enough working experiences, your understanding to industry, to leadership and to business might not as sharp as your peer classmates, so which might affect your job haunting. But if you want to do finance, there might be a little bit differences.
Actually we couple of current students at Duke plans to hold a informal welcome session for incoming students around middle March in Shanghai (after R2 result released). So if you can join us, you might find it helpful.
Best,
Undergrad is totally different planet. Here we're discussing MBA. It doesn't matter about overall reputation, but the recruitment performance matters.

As suggested by northeuro, try to talk to current/former students from both schools. Also a school visit would help a lot if that's possible. Feel free to drop me a message.

lz,

Could you present some statistics about Darden's good presence in Wallstreet and Hongkong?
Data speak louder than simple conclusion. Thank you!
I concluded my findings from my work experience and personal contacts.  rior to application to mba I was doing m&a work for a major player in the healthcare industry (medical devices and lifesciences). I worked closely with pretty much all of the bulge brackets on restructurings and acquisitions of target companies. Also both of my managers were MDs from JP Morgan and CSFB. Just from my interactions with bankers alone I can conclude that Darden do have slight edge over Duke grads given a stable economic enviornment.
Now lets take a quick look at full time employment data for 2006-2007 for Duke and Darden. Duke grads accepting full time positions in financial services (i-banking, asset mgt, and others) total to be 23% versus Darden's 36%. This data might be skewed since that more students go to Duke to pursue other functions and more students go to Darden for banking.
Let me also point out that my decision to attend darden this fall by no means put me at a biased position.
