标题: The second sad news today, 崩溃了。。。

The Doctoral Committee just met to evaluate the applicants received by our February 1 deadline. We evaluated all applicants and put them into three groups:

· Group 1 – five individuals whom we will invite to campus for initial interviews

· Group 2 – several individuals in whom we remain very interested, but who were rated below those in Group 1

· Group 3 – individuals whom we probably (though not definitely) will not consider for our program

You are in Group 2. It will take at least a month before we know if we make offers and get acceptances from those individuals in Group 1. Our plan is to accept three new students. If we don’t get them from Group 1, we will move to Group 2. In years past, we have offered admission to Group 2 individuals.

We remain interested in you and I hope that you remain interested in us.

这所学校是oklahoma state university, 本来以为地方和排名考虑，这所学校应该没人申请。。。哎。。。。

应该还是有不少机会的。小学校有时候反而容易及早内定学生。不过在waiting list上的话，还是有很大的可能转为offer的。Keep positive.

Sometimes schools will cluster candidates who are overqualified into Group 2. Being a "best fit candidate" rather than a "best candidate" is the key to offer.

They didn't give me any news. It is me MYSELF to email the coordinator or director requiring the results...

I think the director would not send you emails if you are in the second group. So, the BEST THING to do is to send him/her a email asking them what position you are in the application pool...... They will tell you your position... (BTW, I have already get three "You are in the second group" emails through this way..., and planning to do it with my other applications)

Oklahoma State理工应该不错,商学院有的时候,你就要看运气了.本来就招几个人吗，还有很多本土人,印度人申请啊...呵呵 (OkState's football seems to be very strong)

Because it is Oklahoma State that puts me into their second group(ATTENTION PLEASE: not waiting list, second group). I cannot imagine what other schools will do upon seeing my application.

By the way,

"you are in the second group" is their diplomatic way of saying NO.

去年也是春节的时候被据的一塌糊涂

OSU也跟我联系了，我也在等。说是还没有确定今年招几个人，也都在考虑中，不要灰心啊！当所有人都在过春节的时候，cd上的xdjm们却在煎熬的等待中，但是这样的等待是很有意义的不是么？而且，我们大家在一起，不孤单！
