先不说应该是过去完成时还是过去时，但是A的as 后面不应该接did the civilizations么?我现在有点糊涂到底什么时候需要加助动词什么时候不需要加？

我猜你是因为看到了后面的that flourished....才认为the civilization did...
前面部分没有宾语，这种情况下，我们后面是不需要加did的
只有完整的句子(有宾语）才需要加助动词
