OG 20题！
An array of tax incentives has led to a boom in the construction of new office buildings; so abundant has capital been for commercial real estate that investors regularly scour the country for areas in which to build.
(A)so abundant has capital been for commercial real estate that
(B)capital has been so abundant for commercial real estate, so that
(C)the abundance of capital for commercial real estate has been for commercial real estate that
(D)such has the abundance of capital been for commercial real estate that
(E)such has been an abundance of capital for commercial real estate,
我的问题是：OG解释：choices c,d,e alter somewhat the intended meaning of the sentence;because of its position in these statements, such function to mean "of a kind" rather than to intensify abundant.
但是such that 不是也可以当“如此（。。。）竟致：以下是字典上的例句：Such was the force of the explosion/The force of the explosion was such that all the windows were broken."
为什么OG上说是function to mean

f a kind呢？？谢谢！

linlinMM,你讲得没错，在表达“如此（。。。）竟致时，such偶尔可放在句首，形成倒装。但不是标准用法。正如OG说讲，此表达容易产生歧义。

我认为应该这样理解：
so abundant has capital been for commercial real estate that
我们把它改成正常语序：
capital has been so abundant for commercial real estate that
has been 这个动作的发出应该是capital,而在D中abundance of capital 的中心词是abundance ,它不能作为has been的合理的发出者。
其实，一句话“估计的是capital而不是abundance”

such可以做代词，含义：of a kind。DE中such做主语，C中做表语，均表示such是代词用法，无法形成such that结构。

但是such that 不是也可以当“如此（。。。）竟致：以下是字典上的例句：such was the force of the explosion/the force of the explosion was such that all the windows were broken."

这个例子很好。第一个such是代词，of a kind的意思。第二个such是形容词，形成所谓的such that结构，表如此（。。。）竟致

such that和so that在意思上相近, 区别是such that接名词而so that接形容词. 举一个简单的例子:
He is such a jerk that I hate him.
He is so arrogant that I do not want to talk to him.

GMAT语法中要求such that不接抽象名词, 例如abundance. 在这种情况下, 要用其形容词形式和so that.
