140. It may be another fifteen years before spacecraft from Earth again venture to Mars, a planet now known to be cold, dry, and probably lifeless.
(A) again venture to Mars, a planet now known to be
(B) venture to Mars again, a planet now known for being
(C) will venture to Mars again, a planet now known as being
(D) venture again to Mars, a planet that is known now to be
(E) will again venture to Mars, a planet known now as being
虽然后面的know as being cold 不是很完美。

Be known for sth/as sb/to do sth.

1,a 和d的区别在哪里? d 为什么不对? that is known 有问题吗?
2,a里面,Mars后面的a planet now known to be 是什么结构?
3,again venture to Mars 和venture again to Mars,个人觉得都可以的。

a 和d的区别在哪里? d 为什么不对? that is known 有问题吗?
a里面,Mars后面的a planet now known to be 是什么结构?
again venture to Mars 和venture again to Mars,个人觉得都可以的。
(A) again venture to Mars, a planet now known to be
(D) venture again to Mars, a planet that is known now to be

It may be another fifteen years before spacecraft from Earth again venture to Mars...
实际上应该是before spacecraft venture to Mars from Earth again.

D中的now到底是修饰known还是to be,是不清晰的。
再加上known to be的用法,可以确定A是正确答案。
