教授的回信，是否有必要继续套？？～　如何回？？

Thanks for your email, and for your interest in our PhD Program. I don't know at this stage whether we will admit any new students in the coming year to the IB major, and indeed it is unlikely that this will be clear until after the deadline for admissions for the Fall, which will be on March 1st, 2008. We don't normally admit more than one or two students per year to the IB major, and at present we have quite a lot of IB students already, so this coming year it may not be 'our turn'.

I would still encourage you to apply. You'll need to do so directly, and not through me. You should be able to find all the information you need on our PhD Program website at the following site:

obviously ,it is a polite and official response to you. There is no any good sign shown in this professor. Did you talk anything related to your speciality in your first letter to this professor?

Apparently this school has admitted many IB students in the past years, more than those in other departments at the school, so he replied to you with "not our turn." Given this circumstance, the other departments at this school will havae priority to recruit doctoral students this coming year. They may release "unused" quota to IB after the aplication deadline if they decide to recruit fewer than expected. So, you can still apply, but getting in or not heaily depends on luck.
