再问：compare to/with 在什么情况下没有区别？ - ChaseDream

我一直以为，compare to 是把A比作B, 不同事物的类比； compare with是把A和B做比较，是同一类事武的比较。

我记得LZM语法上曾经有一个例子，说是把Federal reserve 比作是在tunnel 里面的汽车bouncing back... （不知道有没有人记得），里面用的是compare to, 。。。

几位高人的解释是：比较-compare/contrast 的用法，(as) compared to/with（GMAT 没有区分to 和with 的区别），省略了主语和系动词，即A be compared with/to B，与in contrast to 都是惯用法，前后比较对象一定要对等

p.s.: 另外还有一问题：请问，大家长wisdom tooth的时候，如果那颗牙齿根本只是长得方向不对，抵处到了旁边的牙齿，医生建议拔掉，说以后会可能有麻烦，请问童鞋们是不是都拔了？我很害怕拔牙，从来没拔过，想起来就恐怖。

你给的这个例子是GMAT复习资料里唯一一个和“compare to 是把A比作B, 不同事物的类比； compare with是把A和B做比较，是同一类事武的比较”这条规则不符的，基本可以忽略，用LZM给的那个原则就好了
