答案是E，可是我想问E选项的that mark修饰的是谁啊？应该就近修饰extinctions吧？可是在这里我觉得应该修饰event，谢谢大家。

答案是E，可是我想问E选项的that mark修饰的是谁啊？应该就近修饰extinctions吧？可是在这里我觉得应该修饰event，谢谢大家。

an event是前面天体碰撞的同位语，而mark的主语应该是动植物灭绝，只有动植物灭绝了才能标志一个时代的结束，你不能说天体碰撞标志那个时代结束
