A: correct，than前面用名词，所以助动词补出；those指代patterns

B: 比较对象不对等

请问B的what指代什么，为什么不对等？

what 应该指 the patterns that (boys experience). 但是这里如果不补出助动词，语法上可以理解为 in 的宾语之间的比较（depression & what boys experience)。
