不过觉得其实e项的句子中心是不一样的：

(E) Blue-winged warblers are unlike most species of warbler in that it is very difficult to tell the male and female apart.
觉得A强调他们的雌雄很难被辨认，而E项强调warblers和别的种类的w是不一样的。
不过觉得其实e项的句子中心是不一样的：

(E) Blue-winged warblers are unlike most species of warbler in that it is very difficult to tell the male and female apart.

原先一直在这个误区里转悠，后来才觉得，可能这不是题目的考点，我的分析如下，请指教：
A：错在the male and female blue-winged warbler, 改成warblers变对
B：比较对象明显错误 warbler species 和the gender
C：错在THOSE指待不清楚
D：缺少比较对象，不可能把形式主语的IT和IN介词短语比较
E：虽然句子中心感觉有变化，但不造成大碍，IN THAT虽然很不顺眼但也有正确的时候，详见OG208
而IN THAT 和BECAUSE的显著区别就是，IN THAT 更书面化，在解释差异或说明有何特别之处时，in that比because更贴切
A存在明显的歧义----尽管我们可以主观的理解为"雌雄兰翼鸟", 但是同样可以认为是 "男性 和 雌性兰翼鸟"
即: the male and female blue-winged warbler
C选项存在同样错误
这让我想起了中学语文的典型歧义题, 比如: "大多数男性和女性科学家认为....."

所以, 个人认为这道题的考点就两个:
1. unlike的用法

这条题目的意思重点是在讨论性别是否能区分。
这条题目的解题关键是看前后是否对称。Most species of warbler 和 blue-winged warbler 对称．
(A)主谓不一致．the male and female blue-winged warbler 后面应该接is
(B)前后不对称，Most warbler species 和gender比
(C)前后不对称,those 可以理解成the male and female ones,而the male and female blue-winged warblers和those in most warbler species不对称.并且most warbler species应该改成Most species of warbler
(D)显然错
(E)对称，Most species of warbler 和 blue-winged warblers 对称
A存在明显的歧义----尽管我们可以主观的理解为"雌雄兰翼鸟", 但是同样可以认为是 "男性 和 雌性兰翼鸟"

我不同意这个解释，我觉得这只是你自己的看法，A中不存在这样的歧义，男人和雌性warbler? 不认为有这种歧义
我觉得A中明显的错误只有warbler应该用复数形式
are difficult to tell apart是正确的
warbler species 和 warbler的对应该也不是问题，因为E选项中也用了这个对应，没有理由因为这个原因判定A错却判定E正确
所以A错就错在复数形式上了
E正确，E中的it指代to tell这个不定式
这题我在prep3里好像做到过啊，当时就是直接看对称的，一看就只有E了，而且再看in that在这里很舒服的，就像26楼说的那样，in that只有在这种语境下是最贴切的。所以1分钟之内就选定E了，prep答案说正确。这是俺难得做得这么快的题啊，所以稍微讲两句。
看来关键争议是很多人都觉得 most warbler species 和 the male and female blue-winged warbler 是对称的，我讲不清楚啦，但是第一遍读的时候就觉得是不对称的，反倒是看贴第二遍读的时候还犹豫了下，但是犹豫结果还是觉得不对称。我是女人的思维，不懂什么抽象具体种群个体的，就是读嘛：
和其他的W种群不同，蓝翅的W....读着多顺呀
和其他的W种群不同，男性的和女性的蓝翅的W....多别扭呀
和其他的W种群中的男性与女性成员不同，男性的和女性的蓝翅的W...这才对称了嘛
（请注意第3句中的名词 成员和W 看上去形式是两个名词，而实质成员就是warbler，所以反而对称，二句中看似都是Warbler，但Warbler和Warble指的群体是不对称的）
