标题: AUSTIN的战友们有空上来聊聊.
是不是没有人申请AUSTIN这个学校.发了几次贴子都没有人反馈.
希望过来人能说说面试和之后的过程.

我申请MPA，规则不太一样。没要求面试。essay只有一篇。

你可以在北美校友区写给feifeifei... 但在读一年级。但也可能现在是final season，太忙了吧。

你觉得Texa 网上申请的的程序怎么样，很难搞的。

还好啦,我觉得售后服务很好啊.东西交完后,可以直接看到各项到齐了没有,还是时间注明.你的东西现在正在REVIEW,哪一个部门在审也写得很清楚. 所以耐心地等待.
只是觉得没有人说起这个学校.说没有人申请好象也不可能.反正希望能多一些人交流一下.

不知你想了解什么?摘了一段我们学校的INTERVIEW TIP,虽然是针对找工作的,但我觉得对申请学校一样适用.

Key concepts for successful interview preparation

Know yourself, i.e., your skills, desires, career goals etc. (Always be as specific as possible, i.e., remember names, dates, amounts etc., show focus and direction, even if you are not sure you have it!)
Know the school and program you are interviewing for .
Know "why" you would make an excellent candidate and sell those characteristics, experiences, education etc. throughout the interview process)
Be aware of all verbal and "nonverbal" communication, i.e., Voice Inflection, Gestures, Eye Contact, Body Language, Facial Animation, Clothing, Personal Grooming, Physical Appearance, Posture, etc.
Also:

Realize that the interviewer’s opinion is being formulated within the first three minutes so it is imperative that your non-verbal communication be positive and confident

There are 3 main components of a general interview:

The Introduction – "Meet and Greet", firm handshake, solid eye contact, professional demeanor and verbal response, e.g., "Ms./Mr. Johnson, I appreciate the opportunity and your time to meet with me for this interview", I have been looking forward to it.

Information Exchange – This portion of the interview will initially be controlled by the interviewer, they will review your resume and ask probing questions to gather additional understanding or clarification on your background. The second part of information exchange, will give you a chance to ask questions, usually to a lesser degree than the company has taken

The Close – This is a very critical part of the process. In the initial interview it is too early to "close for an offer", but you should do all of the following:

Let the interviewer know that you are extremely interested and wish to be seriously considered. Ask the interviewer how they perceive you and your qualifications for their position. If there any objections, now is the time to get them out in the open and deal with them by overcoming them or clarifying any misinterpretations that might exist. (Ask for the feedback on issues or topics that came up during the interview that you think might have been viewed as negatives or that were not entirely clear.)

Once you have gotten feedback, assuming that you are still in the running, "closed" shake hands again and leave on a positive note e.g., "Thank you again for the opportunity to interview, I look forward to hearing from you soon".

根据我去年的经验(ON-CAMPUS INTERVIEW), 他们问的都是些常规问题. WHY MBA, WHY UT AUSTIN, WHY NOW, TEAMWORK, LEADSHIP, ETC.

不要背ESSAY, 而应该改得口语化一些. 反复练习. 然后,就是BE YOURSELF!

校友和我说,去年他觉得去年他面试的人没有准备好,最后也没有被录取.他提醒我准备充分一点.所以本来这周的面试,按照他的意思到下周才做.所以才有一些担心.

Well, interview was still optional last year. Good interview could be a plus. If your friend was rejected, then he'd better also review other parts of his application, not only interview.

However, from this year on, it's by invitation only. That implies, interview weighs more in decision.

I think it really depends on which program you want to apply for.
I believe not all of the students here passed 250 in TOEFL.
However, if you are applying for business school or for communication programs, it's really necessary to achieve it's criteria in English.

My suggestion for your reference!

可能最多只能查到ALUMNI在哪个公司工作, 有的从他们留的EMAIL地址就可以看出来了.

做ALUMNI INTERVIEW的ALUMNI 都是VOLUNTEER, 所以一般他们都是热心的人,比较容易交流.

ROSIERES,

对TOEFL的要求是硬性规定,因为能达到这个要求的申请人太多了. 你的分数离要求不远,不如再考一次,肯定能上260.
