Officials at the United States Mint believe that the Sacagawea dollar coin will be used as a substitute for four quarters more than for the dollar bill because it weighs only 8.1 grams, far less than four quarters, which weigh 5.67 grams each.

这个是答案，我有点搞不懂的是far less than前面是逗号，要不要加is变成 is far less than?

还是加了is需要变成 and is far less than,然后就把and is全省了。。。

最近脑子有点糊涂。。。。

后面相当非限制性定于从句，(which is) far less than four quarters,如果加is有两个谓语，要加连词

其实就是一个形容词修饰结构，加了谓语，就要在前面找并列了，楼上说得很清楚了已经~~

再问, far less than four quaters (weights) 这里不需要补出个动词啥的?

我觉得这道若far less than 前是省略which is 会造成不平行对称

因为按which就近指代原则, 会指代grams 形成grams 与four quarters比较的歧义

即使which is非指代grams,但句子前面单数名词的有the dollar bill和the Sacagawea dollar

这时which is就有指代歧义的问题

按原意应该是the Sacagawea dollar coin与four quarters做比较才对
