LBS的Essays比较独特，给了一张Word，好似每个essay的开头都要写在Word里面的方框框里面。我打算把每个Essay的第一句话放在方框里，然后把字数统计填上。请问是这样要求的吗？

I am preparing myself for applying for LBS in Round 2. Following are my basic information:
GMAT: 720
W/E: 7 years
Position: Senior Associate of Strategic Investment
Industry: mass media
My past experience focuses on identifying and developing new business in media in a broader sense, I have led a very successful investment in a project which has over 500% increse in revenue in its first-2-year period.
But franky, I am not sure if I "fit" LBS, which has such a high reputation in financing and banking. I would like to pursue a career in VC or business development, and I don't care if I would transfer to I banking, but how could? I don't have much knowledge on banking and financing.
My background and my work experience will put me in a disadvantagious position?

Not sure you are applying for MBA or MiF. Your GMAT and years of W/E are above average of both programs. I am not sure what's your function in making the investment? markeging analysis/research? valuation? modelling?
Your background is good and I think you have good chance for LBS, provided that your tailor your essays and interviews well.
Anyway, if you want to switch to VC (brand names), it will be hard. You are competing with people with years of M&A W/E from top IBs or those very senior guys with in-depth industry knowledge.
Anyway, I think you have chance in M&A of IBs, covering media industry. Media seems pretty hot.

You should have interview opportunities for IBs. If you get a good Intern first, your chances will be large.

vincent may still have opportunities to join VCs provided you know how to analyze industry value chain, business model, do financial modelling and have strong network in your industry (i mean media). VC prefer smart people that understand both technology and business.
But i am really confused. you said your function is 1)senior associate in investment 2) R&D. you can't win if you provide such misleading information!

for your information, my position title is Senior Associate in Strategic Investment, but what I routinely do is R & D. it means I identify and make feasibliity studies on those media projects, like launch a new magzine, a metropolitan newspaper, a nitch publication, a TV shopping channel...BUT not much on valuation and modeling like Dinno suggested above. Again, in a Chinese multi-media group, our team work together along the whole process of making investment.....I guess big difference in consumer products or other sectors....
again, I am a media background, no much knowledge on how Investing functions in other sectors...I appreciate it if you would be informative...

Try not to use R&D since R&D is mainly used by engineering (e.g. chips, internet).
