我只是到twice the 名词或代词还有 twice as....as

虽然我选对了但是做题的时候没有LZ这么仔细

我觉得这里之所以没有用twice the trucks 或者twice the number of trucks

是因为trucks修饰语太长－－－tucks alone came off the assembly lines

that指代其后的内容，这样看来应该还是twice the + n.的形式

that不应该指代其后的内容,应该指代469,000.作者就是想告诉你在1939年的数量是这个数字的两倍.

你确定是选B吗??

至少我的答案是B，而且其他的选项也有问题，

所以我就很迷惑，到底这里的twice that这样用行不行

2搂兄弟的解释个人觉得还是有些牵强呀，考试时候要是我看见这个用法直接一下就排除了~~

句意为上！

句意表示１９１４美国cars and trucks共469,000，但到了1929时trucks alone是那数字的２倍．．

这里考点并不是看twice要如何搭配问题而仅是单纯的句意表示２倍的意思．．

that是指代前面刚刚提到过的数字

其实并不是说有twice that这个说法这么严重啦

我的理解，不知道对不对：

不是twice that连起来看，而是that number连起来看，理解为：“那个数字”，指的是前面提到的469000.可以换成the。

A，B， C考的应该不是惯用法，而是指代问题。 twice that number意思是是哪个数字的两倍的。。

而that number就是469,000。A和C都没有指代469,000的意思。

答案是B的原因为
1) 我们会说 a number of trucks, 可是不能说成 a numbers of trucks.
因此 the numbers of trucks alone 是不对的.

2) alone比by themselves好
句意为强调「单单是卡车就有那么多了」, 而不是强调「卡车它们自己怎么怎么样」. 所以不用themselves.

我觉得 B but twice that number(that number=469000) of trucks alone +谓语结构很好很完整。
A numbers of 表示大量的...
C by themselves 不如alone,另外 by oneself与alone意思上有差别。我觉得by oneself指自己能做...alone指单单tuck（不含car），这里用alone更合理；比较结构中指代上文提到的事物一般用that
D E 不应该用（by） themselves
