The issue of whether business and other organizations have overemphasized the importance of working as a team is a complex and controversial one. Different people hold defferent views due to their respective angles. On the one hand, as is well known and has often been advocated that in any human group, it is the strong individual, the person with the most commitment and energy, who gets things done. We do not have to look very for to see the valid standpoint of this matter. In the following analysis, I would like to reason and provide evidence favoring the former one and refuting the latter one.
In the first place, the important reason that can be presented to develop my position is that working as a team is critical to a business organization's thrive. Every employee, in the same department or not, is capable of something and not of the others. the employees as parts are good does not mean that the collection of them as a whole will be equal good. In order to be the same excellent, the business as a whole should be also unified and cohesive. And it is the teamworking that provides these two ingredients.
In the second place, there is another reason for me to choose the former statement. The reason is that working as a team might make the business more effective than simply letting the individual work alone. Moreover, emphasize working indivdually may cause conflicts or resentment in a team, both to the detriment of a business. Teamworking spirit make everybody do things coorperately and freindly, and absorb ideas and opinions from each other.
Admittedly, there is no denying that the person with the most commitment and energy can get things done by individual in some conditions. As we know, some people would like to do things without anybody else's interruption. However, this alone does not constitute a sufficint support to the statement that the businesses have overemphasized the importance of working as a team.
Consequently, I advocate that businesses have never overemphasized the importrance of working as a team.. Because 1) only if the employees work as a whole with cohesiveness and coherence can serve the firms’ goal well.; 2) the every body works individually may cause conflicts or resentment in a team and impact the organization badly. Due to the above mentionec reasons, which sometimes intertwine to form an organic whole and thus become persuasive, we may arrive at the condlusion I support.
