og的解释是：The first and last verbs in the series of verbs that describe the calves are in the present tense, so the two in the middle should be as well：the Calves exercise．．．associate．．．require．．．gain weight．Adverbs，not adjectives, describe how an action is carried out．These calves gain weight more quickly，not quicker, than other calves．The comparison is between calves and those (referring to another set of calves)；the verb do ungrammatically interrupts the comparison and should be eliminated．

但我想不通的是既然比较的是主语，为什么than后面没有加do，来表示those raised in confinement是和they(calves)这个主语作比呢？想不通啊，而且if后跟一般现在时,逗号后面应该是将来时才对啊。。。

请大家帮忙想想!

than...do,觉得应该这样才好。c,d选项中quicker错误十分明显。不知解释的对不对，请nn指正！

OG里主词的比较，有的会省动词，因为OG「认为」不会有歧异
这个「认为」的准则，我还在思考中，会混淆的一定有个道理在。

另外if这个小字，可以当直说法。
非常抱歉我不太熟悉你们的术语。
也就是直接讲事实的意思
if可以讲事实、讲可能、讲不可能的假设，三种句意。

如果than后边补出do,反而会有歧义，因为前面有两个动词require and gain, do只能代替一个动词，补出后改变句意

我想本题所表达的意思如同例句1，是一个客观现实，不遵从“主将从现”；而且时态不是本题的考察重点，故我想不用深究

than后面不足动词主要是为了避免歧义。如：I know him better than you. 这句话可以理解成I know him better than you know him. or I know him better than I know you.

在这题中，即使不补足动词也不会引起歧义，故不一定要不足动词。
