the key is A.
Here "moisture threaten to destroy" why use threaten not threated?

threaten是动词，用做一般现在时。前半句描述的是现在的情况
threat是名词

对比一下12和80，比较中的省略。

In C and E, subject to the [same] applicability of... is wordy, awkward, and imprecise; furthermore, are is preferable either before or after established big businesses to complete the comparison.

In C, had signals the incorrect past perfect; did in D and were in E are awkward and unnecessary(没有歧义的时候补出动词多余，

所以，可否理解为，长句子，复杂结构的比较，补出来比较清晰的话，补，

短句子，简单结构，一眼就清晰的，不补，

am i right？？

楼上兄弟：你把助动词补出/不补出的情况对比一下，就会发现，补与不补都不会影响句意，那么当然越简洁越好啦！

哦，就是说在不产生歧义的情况下，首选省略形式，明白了。
