我以F2身份来美国1年了，不知怎么在简历或essay上写这段经历

美国人非常理解,家庭永远是高于事业的.

不像中国人,认为党和人民和光辉的事业是高于一切的....嘿嘿...

中国人眼里,什么儿女情长都是屁话.

you do not need to write it in your resume. Talk through it during the interview.

The same situation. I explained my 1-year gap as F2 in the optional essay and admission interview. But I still got rejection from university of maryland due to this point. It doesn't make sense, but I can do nothing to change the situation now.
