标题: 讨论:拿绿卡与回国
国外读好 mba后各位想拿绿卡后再回来吗？觉得绿卡的吸引力在哪里呢？在米国工作1-3年恐怕拿不到绿卡吧。
国内有多少人是这样的。感觉上有了绿卡，出差，签证方便很多。同时，也有一些人拿了绿卡就以我是米国人自居，自我感觉好的不得了。
想知道一下各位的想法。

many found those opportunites and took advantage of them. many could not. many didn't even bother to look for it

GC has restriction too. you get your free pass when you become US citizen or Canada citizen.

没有工作机会，哪里会有绿卡？

即便有了工作机会，也将伴随着漫长无期的等待。总之，很痛苦的事情，也决不是1-3年可以搞定的。

so tiiger bro, with 2 yrs w/e in US, so person can still get green card? It is saaaid you must work for 5 yrs. Then how about come back? U must work for us compaany?

以为有了绿卡就是美国人的人，会被人笑话的！其实有了绿卡回国也并不方便，半年就要回来一趟，没意思，要不然就请长假2年，绝对不是国民待遇

why think about GC? this is my top question.

to me, it only means convinient, nothing else.

even you are a PR or US-citizen, so what? the blood in your body is still not American.

在大公司里。拿中国护照要做到vp, president 会很难的。even you hold some asia 护照, it does not do the magic too.

最后你说错了，我知道得在纽约banking里就有好多VP拿中国护照，主要是在banking, vp什么都不是

Agree with Emilydong. I don't see any correlations between GC and VP positions in companies.

Applying for GC can be a long process in some states like Cal. It may take 2 years, 4 years or even longer. Besides, there are limitations once you get them. For instance, staying in US for a certain time period every year. If go back to China, you can request for a 2-yr exemption. after that, you have a chance to renew it for another 2 years. but you must stay in US a whole year for the 5th year. (this is just what I was told. may not be 100% true).

But actually, it is true. From my experience. And also if you compete a manager position, a person with so called international experience wins over you if you do not have such experience.

I suppose some of us want to back China.
