double 在这里时作动词用吗？是的话，前面也没有连词，那么这句话就有两个动词were, double,这样也可以吗？实在不解，请大家帮忙，谢谢。

我也有同样的问题,而且for 1977也不合理呀

是呀，for 1977看上去就有点奇怪，姑且认为介词不是考试重点，可是double怎么看都不能用，请大家指教。

double here is an adjective.
