A 的and 后应该变成 is supplied，同时从逻辑意思上理解[After crude oil, natural gas is the United States second biggest fuel source] 跟 [supplied almost exclusively from reserves in North America]才是并列，也就是说After crude oil不修饰supplied almost exclusively from reserves in North America。

A中从逻辑意义上讲是不平行的，而且and后面的is是不是不能够被省略呢？joywzy，你说呢？

但D显然有歧义:

Natural gas, the United States’ second biggest fuel source after crude oil ....(D) 既可以理解为 "天然气作为美国第二大燃料资源,紧随原油"; 也可以理解为"排在原油之后有很多能源, 天然气列第二 ", 也就是说天然气是美国第三大能源, 这种句意歧义, ETS是不可能忽视的, 所以它甚至可以成为排除D的原因.

不仅如此, D的主干-- Natural gas is supplied....这个被动的主语是什么呢? 根本没有. 很显然, 资源只能是be supplied for sth./sb.

这里仅仅是"天然气提供了什么..." 而不是天然气被提供给谁, 或者天然气被谁提供.

After crude oil, natural gas is the United States second biggest fuel source (A) 避免了这种歧义, 同时, 也暗示着

crude oil also supplied almost exclusively from reserves in North America.

一个句意并列: Natual gas is...and did.....

A肯定不对，supplied前省略的is和is the United States...

两个is的功能不同，当然不能省略

gas只能被供应，当不知道发出动作的主体是谁时，使用被动语态能很好的回避主体问题

同意这个看法，D的逻辑关系好像有点问题，原来的意思是natural gas after crude oil, 而D的意思是fuel source after crude oil. 但是A也有疑问, 就是be ... and be done，第二个be是不是可以省略? 我做题的时候比较了二者，从可能的逻辑错误除非把D排除了.

请赐教！！！
