D. their many problems is the recent

答案是A。我根据时态选对的。解释中说：its agrees with retailers; the past perfect had been indicates action prior to the simple past said; recent modifies extended sales slump.

我的问题是，如果我把A改成“its many problems had been the recently" 对吗？

个人认为recently extended sales slump 比较合理啊。为什么这里答案认为recently是修饰extended sales slump, 而不是extended呢？不理解～

a three-month liquidation sale和the recent extended sales是平行结构

还有recent是修饰sales的，不是修饰slump的

slump是one的谓语

1 slump在这里是名词，但也有动词的意思，这一点还请你亲自查字典。

2 extended在这里是形容词，修饰sales slump, 而不是你所认为的做动词。不然就是recent修饰动词就是错误的。解释也清楚的说，recent修饰extended sales slump。

3如果extented是动词，slump也是动词，那么句子结构错误；如果extented是形容词，slump是动词，但这里它确使用原型，证明它肯定是名词了；如果extended是动词，那么the recent=recently，实际上是没有这种用法。

4这个句子的结构是“主系表结构”，而不是“主谓宾”结构。

不知解释清楚没有？
