GWD7-Q33:  句意,

The health benefits of tea have been the subject of much research; in addition to its possibilities for preventing and inhibiting some forms of cancer, the brewed leaves of Camellia sinensis may also play a role in reducing the risk of heart disease and stroke.

 

  1. in addition to its possibilities for preventing and inhibiting
  2. in addition to its possibilities to prevent or inhibit
  3. besides the possibility that it prevents and inhibits
  4. besides the possible preventing and inhibiting of
  5. besides possibly preventing or inhibiting 

答案是Ｅ，请问"in addition to "and  "besides" here ,what is the difference?    I choose B, please help to correct...thanks...

个人认为这里考的不是in addition to 和besides，考的是对称

the brewed leaves of ... may also play a role in reducing the risk of , 前面也应该使用动名词preventing or inhibiting

不能选B，因为不能用代词it， 因为后面的the brewed leaves 是复数的形式。

谢谢大家的讲解，明白了Ｅ的正确，还是想知道"in addition to "and  "besides"的区别，没有区别吗，我看答案破解上这个作为了一个很大排除选项的原因，但是他就是说有区别正确，不能用"in addition to "，但是没说为什么呢？

最好还是in addition to,介词短语比较好，但这里很明显是单复数和and or得问题：）

its不对，排除ABC

d太过复杂

所以，e对

另外，possibility后面接of+ doing,不用不定式。

在牛津里面用in additional to sb/st 和apart from sb/sth 来解释besides, 应该没什么差别吧，觉得这道题考得不是这个考点

我不是NN，

prevent（预防）和inhibit（阻止）两种情况不能同时存在吧，所以用or

注意这里的分号， 前一句说tea, 后一句说brewed leaves, 所以prevent 和inhibit的主语是the leaves, 所以不能用its 或者it. 所以前面用分词短语。D 能用分词和REDUCING THE RISK...对应，为什么要用 ADJ+动名词形式呢，所以选E.
