答案给的是D，我认为选E.

我觉得D中的toward 和 instead of 都不好。

请大家指教。

我觉得应该选择D。

在A中paying的修饰对象不正确；B中which修饰对象不明确；

C中compared to用法不正确，并不是一个对比，previously修饰名词不正确；

E中，as opposed to表对比，不正确，for表目的不确切。
