GWD17-Q12:

我选B, 提示答案是C.

请教为什么B 是错误的？

 如果没有连词 就成了 两个句子 并列 或者说 一个句子两个 主谓宾结构

 所以这个but 不能少

 但是———————— d 怎么不对啊.... except in 这结构没见过

 except for 不是可以表示 与主语不同类型的 排出么

 如：except for some mistakes, his essay is really good。。。

 in 修饰后面的部分.... 忽然明白了....

            ，从句子结构的角度
                A,B,E很容易排除，,比较C,D之后，觉得必须要有in

Mauritius was a British colony for almost 200 years, but except
                ( the English language was spoken)
                in the domains of administration and teaching, the English language was never really spoken on the island.

如果没有in 就是除了the domains of administration and teaching以外的意思，而不是除了在the domains of administration and teaching中使用英语的意思了。

 

另外如果用excepting 的话，逻辑主语错误，except的动作是the English language发出的解释不通

except可以做动词，连词，介词。可以单独使用

Eg. The retired worker usually waters his garden every day except on rainy days.

 地理名词the island前用on 那么地理名词the domains 前面肯定不能用for而只能用in啦
