标题: 学校定位　也求拍　终于选定ＰＨＤ了．．．

定位是ＴＯＰ３０　申请１０所，　３０－５０　５所，　５０－１００　５所．

１０－５－５的结构．

小弟背景：

本科ＡＣＣ　，大陆前几名的学校．

无工作经验．

ＧＰＡ　８６左右

ＧＭＡＴ　７３０＋５．５

ＣＦＡ　ＬＥＶＥＬ２　ＣＡＮＤＩＤＡＴＥ

专长是计量经济和统计还有计算机．帮一些著名经济学家做过研究，主要是计量方面．

有国内著名计量方面学者的推荐．

有两篇ＰＡＰＥＲ，都是股票市场的，一篇理论经济方面，一偏计量的实证．都发表在国外期刊．

大概就这些

我对申请ＰＨＤ是一窍不通的，如果选校太乐观，请尽管砸．我打算也申请几个ＭＡＣＣ

Your background is far better than mine. I believe you have pretty good chance to get into TOP 30 program.

You can definitely get an offer from top 50 programs.

I do not think so. Especially, it is accounting doctoral. Academia is pretty different from industry.

ACC的PHD 进可以在INDUSTRY做个高级分析师，退可以回国做教授。

但是读了MBA 之后就只能卖命干活了。。。。除非再读PHD

I think your background is quite decent. Your plan seems fine to me too.

No need to apply for schools after 50. Sort of waste of time if you want to pursue a carrer at business school.

能介绍几个偏数理偏实证的学校吗？我就知道MIT，CMU，CHICAGO

我实在看不出什么来，从DEPT介绍里每个学校的FACULTY似乎都有做实证的NN。

No. The academic job market for accounting PhD in the States is really hot now, probably hotter than for Finance.

50以内的不要碰。除非你的期刊是很牛的（应该不会吧,否则你已经在圈内了，不会再问这些问题的...)

gpa is soso, no papers.

Maybe 50~100 is a better choice.

PS: CFA is nothing in applying for Ph.D. It's a bonus for your work possibility.

I think choosing universities does not depend on the ranking but on your research interests. Try to match your interests with universities.

Accounting is very good at job hunting.

申请定位的时候主要看排名兼顾match和兴趣。录取后决定去哪家主要看兴趣，兼顾排名。
