标题: Age 33, male, too late for law school?

Hi guys,

This is a wonderful place and I welcome any comments and suggestions for my dilemma. I am old, 33 this year, and thinking of applying to law school. My undergrad major is biochem, and I have been operating my online business for the past 6 years. $$ is not a problem for me, I just want to do something new. I haven't taken the LSAT, as I am not sure of the job prospect for old Chinese lawyers. What do you think? Should I do it?

Just think about what you really want.Don't just try~Money is not your problem.So why do you want to apply for JD program? For fun?

在中国，33岁开始做律师确实太晚了，在国内律所里你也会很不自在，你的同龄人都会是合伙人级别的了。在美国没有这个顾虑。很多人都是半路改行做律师的。你唯一需要考虑到的是自己的精力和承受压力的能力。有机化学

、软件工程师甚至医生的工作压力都远不如律师大。你要看看自己的身体是否承受的了。

同问。30出头算老吗？是不是中国人30岁以后就没办法转律师职业了？

不防先了解接触一些在老美做LAWYER 的，我是指那些born in China后出国的。看看他们都是在做什么样的律师？做的是什么的律师工作？在具体哪里做律师？半路出家在老美做lawyer也是一样不容易的，就算本专业一直读法律的中国人在米国也极少能进主流社会的律师所的，多半是窝在chinatown 替或鼓动中国大陆人虚构资料解决身份问题，什么嫁个老美假结婚啦政治庇护啦，这些是他们最喜欢鼓动大陆人去做的，这样更方便他们帮你办绿卡得报酬。律师的职业道德呢？不知道他们是否有想过这个。再说，老美自己读法律的本土人都供大于求了，律师饭碗不好找啊。告诉这些事实，绝对不是要大家放弃到米国学习尤其是学law.相反，我更鼓励大家出去学law, 中国就最缺少的就是这个LAW。学的国人多了自然会有好的结果，星星之火可以燎原嘛。所以，大家还是加油啊。

近2年投资移民类的case更是此类律师的目标市场了。国人都富了嘛，总得利用下，有语言上的天生优势嘛。

两种法系,怎么燎原,要学law也至少去日本或德国呀..

CHANGE THE LAW SYSTEM. WHY NOT? CHANGE FOR BETTER, CHANGE TO CREATE A NEW AND GOOD LIFE FOR OUR PEOPLE. WHY NOT?
