标题: 请教：JD对家庭生活的影响（女生）

hi各位，想请教insider们的意见。

我现在在念pharmacology得phd，不喜欢，想转行。似乎生物方向的如果不想做研究，

一般都去找consulting firm或者继续去念law school做patent。

我现在考虑申请09年的law school（大概09年初phd毕业）。对于申请还是比较有信心

的。LSAT觉得有把握考170多，应该还是可以找到

top15左右的吧。

但是现在有点下不了决心。我是个很重视家庭生活的人，也想早点开始生比较多的小孩

子哈哈。我明年春天结婚，本来打算马上就开始要孩子，反正phd期间很清闲时间比较

灵活，但是一想到有可能去law school就有点犹豫了。

不知道如果有个小孩子的话，是不是精力上不够同时上law school得。如果我等到law

school毕业再开始生的话，就有点太老了，到时候就31了。我老公挣钱不是很多，所以

到时候还要我来工作养家糊口。

不好意思，扯太多。。主要就是想问问有经验的人们，如果在去law school之前有个小

baby的话，有可能survive law school吗？多谢了！

law school is easy. working in a biglaw is hard.

the only time you feel squashed in law school is 1L. 2L is relatively easy. 3L is pretty much party time.

You might be able to come across an answer from some surveys conducted by legal career industry associations or advocacy groups. I know one thing on top of my mind is that, 25-30% of law school graduates change their careers within 5 year of practice. It might be more applicable to non-Chinese.

But, granted, whether and how you can survive in the big law firm really depends on how your individual career/life priority, tolerance and tenacity.
