标题: 请教：上海市优秀毕业生（本科的）怎么翻译呢

请教一下，

1。本科毕业的时候拿到了上海市优秀毕业生的奖状，请问这个在申请资料里面怎么怎么翻译呢？

2。这个算不算graduation with honor呢？

为什么要按原文翻译？即使翻译准确，但如果人家不知道你在说啥，也没用 - 可能人家认为多数学生都有这个奖呢。我建议用distinction，这是全世界都明白的词儿

I won't worry much about it. Either word gets the meaning through. Should be graduated with honor/distinction, not graduation.

可是我们学校的distinction在以前是指好像ABCD一样的那种学习成绩。比如说一个人的math在成绩单上面写得是distinction，就是说他的math成绩比A要好（满分或者几乎满分）。

而graduation with honor是指毕业时候的成绩在全校的成绩排名还有gpa的分数的出来的。我们学校毕业的人，top 5% of your major就是graduation with honor(1st class honor)；top 5%-10%就是graduation with honor(2nd class upper); top 10%-20%就是gtaduation with honor( 2nd class lower). 这些都是在成绩单和毕业证书上面写着的。

所以我感觉lz那个还是写成award比较好
