答案A,我犹豫了半天才决定选A,比下来A稍微好点,但A里有几点也不明白:

为什么用subjected

請問這兩者有何不同?

be subject to 表示 服从  eg: A will not be subject to the new law. 意思是A不服从新法律，（不受新法律的约束）

be subjected to :经历，遭受  eg: A is subjected to great press.  A 遭受了很大的压力。

DE首先排除，因为这样用会引起歧义，but到底和谁并列。

在ABC中选，
            首先排除C，因为如果用AS表示像的话，这个是副词那么后面需要主语 temperature.划线外是一个动词damage所以后面不完整。所以排除C。

在AB中选，文中要表达的意思是，
            在英国的图书馆没有遭受到像美国图书馆一样的极端的天气和湿度。所以AB都对。而且A比B好，Ｂ as those多余了。重复句子意思。翻译过来变成了，
            那里的图书馆没有遭受到极端的天气和湿度就像那些破坏美国书本一样的天气和湿度。

而且 be subject to 比be subject of好点。

个人拙见~

用subject of  把 BD排除

CE中，extremity用法怪异 一般都是说 to the extremes的啊（当然这不足为凭）

主要我认为as 不单独使用，这里故意作为混淆来表示比较 prep中说过，as...as要成对出现 所以我看了句意，就把C 排除了

至于E，我没看懂。。。

总结以上大侠，就是Because引出另一分句，后面要有逗号，而且but 有与because 混淆的歧义

根据后面的damage，that指代extremes
