2 what's differenent fuction of "symbolized" and " symbolizing" in the sentence?

第一个问题不晓得楼主想问什么;

第二个问题应该是symbolizing为好吧,两者的差别在于一个似乎动作的发出方,一个是动作的承受方;可是land怎么能是承受symbolize这个动作的呢?所以答案...是选B么?

个人认为： the land that symbolized the possibility of freedom.是对Africa的具体解释，不知道能不能算同位语。to him是插入语。

有点混乱，大家指教

答案是A

symbolize修饰的是它前面的事情

如果选B symbolize修饰的对象不清楚不明确也可能是修饰the African land 也可能是修饰前面

我一开始也选错了被指点了一下
