答案是D，可是我觉得D也有一个很大的问题，the largest of the ancient world是否有指代Alexandria的嫌疑？相比较而言好像还是E更加好一些把？

E之所以不对，OG说的很清楚。
The structure of E illogically suggests that there was more than one largest library of the ancient world and that only Alexandria’s was destroyed. Furthermore, the result was should instead be the result was that.

D中不是没有这个嫌疑，但对于：
N1介词N2，同位语
的结构，同位语指代N1是再正常不过的事情。
而且，the largest of the ancient world是省略结构，补全了应该是
the largest library of the ancient world

同位语通常用来解释句子的主干，如主语，宾语。状语是不需要同位语来解释的，如OG220的D选项。
