was ever before possible ,some of the classic recorded performance of the PRE-LP era. 都是the use of new technology的修饰成分，

请问这个状语成分，than was ever before possible, was是表示过去的状态，我好像和主句是要用完成时态用法混起来了?直接用than ever before possible行不行？
