(A) if there is a lack of some other doctor to testify (B) unless there will be another doctor to testify (C) without another doctor’s testimony (D) should there be no testimony from some other doctor (E) lacking another doctor to testify 答案是C 我的问题是without 后面作为一个介词短语，优先修饰damage，意思上不对，应该是修饰A patient 。介词短语可以这样用吗？？那么分词短语是否也可象介词短语这样跳跃修饰？？

我认为without 不是修饰damage or a patient，而是修饰整个句子，不存在跳跃修饰。 应该改为some other doctors作者: gemj 时间: 2003-11-26 22:26
without another doctor’s testimony是介词短语作状语，修饰prove。 some other doctor意思是某个其他的医生。感觉可以。作者: dreadpower 时间: 2003-11-26 22:37
介词短语的修饰似乎比较复杂，在XDF听课时，老师说介词短语总是优先修饰最靠近的前面的成分
