这句话是什么意思？看不懂，汗！

;我估计使用一般现在时态,分号的作用不小,they 指代vintners ,肯定会用do 而不是are

这句的确很费解.

they do,完整的形态应该是什么呢? 我感觉应该是they sell well. 但是不知道对不对.

我猜想是不是跟sell这个词有关?因为东西出售,既可以说: the books are sold out. 也可以说the books sell well.

这个。。大概就是说，意大利的葡萄酒生产者为了减少他们压滞的存货而降低销售价格，这些葡萄酒的价格是为了它们能被更好地销售而制定的，所以它们也(像那些生产者预想那样)被卖出去了。

忽然来看看，楼上的正解，我觉得就是the italian vintners' wine are priced to sell, and italian vintners cut prices.

正确的理解是这样的:

price的意思是:："询问或查询出…的价格"，也就是原句划线部分可以换成：have been asked the price so as to buy it。后面半句的意思是：他们的酒曾经被人询问过价格以购买，而他们也卖了。

大家可能进入了一个怪圈，那就是后半句必须与前半句有紧密的联系，其实不然。另外，大家可能没有完全看懂：为了降低存货，他们降价了，降价就是为了促销，right？而与此同时，有人问他们价格，并且要买，所以他们卖了——也是降低库存。虽然前后的意思不是特别紧密，但在降低库存方面是一致的。
