说某药厂只生产“防止孩子触摸到的”aspirin。但是一个survey发现很多没有孩子的成人也买没有这种防止孩子触摸到的设计的aspirin。所以要增加profit,这个厂决定生产这种没有设计的aspirin。问:下列哪个可以best evaluate这个工厂的decision?
我在两个choices中间想了很久。
(1)whether sales from the latter will be enough to compensate the initial investment of it.
(2)whether people who will buy this new type of aspirin are people who normally by the former type.
个人感觉应该是2,因为一里面新出来的那个 initial investment 如果在去核算他的成本好象很麻烦,但是二比较清楚,大家指点指点我吧
我选2,不过不选一是觉得even if sales from the latter will compensate the initial investment of it, it cannot guarantee the increase of profit...
for 2, if the people who will buy this new product are people who buy the former type, the new product may not attract enough new customers from their competitors and so may not enlarge the sales.
个人觉得选2,是出于如下的考虑:之所以这个厂子只打算生产没有防止小孩触摸设计的aspirin,是因为它发现了一个survey发现很多没有孩子的成人也买没有这种防止孩子触摸到的设计的aspirin。所以,如果这家厂子生产了没有设计的aspirin之后,实际上只是把购买前一种aspirin的没有孩子的成人转换过来的话,那么实际上它的市场并没有扩大,因为它并没有增加新的购买者。相反,如果将要购买这种aspirin的不是先前的购买者,那厂子的利润就能增加,工厂的决定就是有意义的。
