标题: XY 1 Q16 关于than后面省不省前面的主谓

Q16:

Soaring television costs accounted for more than half the spending in the presidential campaign of 1992, a greater proportion than it was in any previous election.

 

  1. a greater proportion than it was

  2. a greater proportion than

  3. a greater proportion than they have been

  4. which is greater than was so

E which is greater than it has been

答案是选B，省去了后面的主谓，如果加上，是不是应该是 a greater proportion than they did?

我选错了，选成了C。这道题选B，是不是因为后面补足了的答案都是错的。谢谢

然后又发现这到题：

这个题选B,不选C，为什么呢？我觉得 The army took 700,000 artisans more than 36 years to complete. COMPLETE后面的宾语可以省的，就是主语呀。谢谢

16，32我再思考了一下，是不是因为前后比较的主语相同，所以就省去了than后面的主语和助动？以前我对SC的理解一直都是能补出就补出，而现在看来是能省则省了？？？

比较对象（proportion)一致，省略；补出应该是 a greater proportion than it had been

Q32题我选A，economic and economical 意思不一样，这个还需要请教大家

Q20就是尽量补出原则了，再说它离主语已经很远了，意思上也需要补出明确一下
