标题: 两个推荐信问题的理解
1. How long have you known the applicant and in what capacity?
问题：“in what capacity”是写推荐人对我的总体印象吗？

2。How thoroughly has the applicant thought out plans for MBA study and a management career?
问题：是只我对MBA的aspiration吗？

1. No, it's not about the recommender's overall image you, but how well the recommender knows you. The first part of the question asks how long the recommender knows you, but the number of years a person know you is useless unless more details are given, so the school can understand the degree your recommender knows you.

2. No, it's not asking about your aspiration, but the school asks the recommender
to evaluate how realistic your goals to get an MBA or a management career is.

同意gowell的意见，补充一点，第二个问题里面还可以讲一下你是如何有计划的实现你的目标的，而MBA又是其中不可缺少的一环。
