我觉得D比较好,C改变了原意,enabling 也不好.

You mean change appositive phrase "the same as the one making some butterflies shimmer via the phenomenon of iridescence" to the main clause of the sentence, right?

Also, can we understand "eabling" modifies "ultrathin, layered construction"? Or we cant since they are too far away?

为什么D 正确？

心得：

如何判断本题考点？

1，先看结尾：B、D、E 3个都是将enables做动词，但有单、复数之分；再看开头，5个选项都是wings，复数；明显的主谓一致的考点；

2，C出现“
，enabling ”显示在考修饰，这样就要注意是否修饰歧义；

识别陷阱：

故意弄个假的主谓一致，E就是这种陷阱的代表，划线的地方wings是复数，also enable是复数，看起来很配，实际上从句的主语是construction，谓语应该是单数 enables。

C: 错，enabling前有逗号，可以就近修饰phenomenon，也可以伴随修饰主句主语Scientists，造成修饰歧异，且逻辑含义都不对；

D：用同位语插入，补充说明the ultrathin, layered construction，主干清晰，句子结构如下：

主句主语
                    谓语 + that 从句主语，同位语插入（对从句主语补充说明），从句谓语
                    宾语
                    宾语补足语。

因为不知道ultrathin的含义，错把这个单词当成名词了。所以选了A，请问NN在考试时如何判断像这样不知道词义单词的词性？（可能我默认两个形容词之间应该用and而不是逗号……）

此题无比诡异，那个破折号很诡异，also的用法也诡异

关于C，我之前是选择这个的，我后来觉得它不对了，我觉得它错的也诡异，因为一般两个逗号之前是插入语，而谓语is就在这对逗号当中……晕死

既然中间是插入语，那就意味着它不影响原句的意思，所以去掉也可以读的通，但是这里去掉的话，also和插入语之前的句子联系不上啊？？

插入语只是在分析句子结构的时候可以将其看成单独的部分，不影响整个句子结构，但是它们在翻译句子意思的时候是绝对需要翻译出来的，也就是说它们绝对可以影响句子是否使用某些副词或是形容词，上面的MM不要把插入语拿掉，直接翻译整句话，你可以发现also其实是需要的，因为插入部分说出了主语的一个功能，主句部分说明的另一种功能。
