答案是B，可是我有一个疑问：The Federalist papers到底是单数还是复数呢？从答案represent来看是复数，可是他的同位语又是 a
strong defense of the United States Constitution as well as an important body of work in political science，a和an说明了单数，那这样又单数又复数的会不会有点自相矛盾呢？

这串东西不算同位语哦，是插入语修饰，说明其性质的。

那也不是完全不看~根据句子意思吧，但插入语不影响主谓语的对应咯

那这样的话这题的单复数到底要怎么看呢？是看papers所以用represent吗？

不用管插入语的a/an吗？谢谢！
