终于搞清楚了答案是E，可是就是不明白为什么主句主语是production, 我觉得主句主语应该是document examples, production是同位语呀。 且谓语动词又是复数形式。所有主句主语应该是documented examples呀。求帮忙，晕死了！！！！！！！！！！！

when placed是修饰小白鼠
这样的理解对吗？
另外，我现在觉得D是不对，但是错在后一个they指代上有问题，不知指代canaries还是neutrons
they指代就是有问题的
when placed是修饰growth的，它是句子的宾语，In mice只是修饰GROWTH

这里压根就没有逻辑主语的事，因为没有不定式或者that引导的宾语从句。
但是有when placed这种说法，可以看成省略了时间状语从句的主语啊个人觉得，句子的主语是examples of neurogenesis. 因为如果是production, include前面为什么要有逗号？the production of new brain cells只是neurogenesis的同位语。
我觉得这道题还可以用平行的原则进行排除：
