我觉得此题选E。
首先drawing和burning不平行，即使加上by。buring calories...明显在逻辑层次上应该和from the sun平行，作为drawing their body heat的两种方式。这题就跟prep1-1那道渔民养鱼题一样，不能乱平行。再者平行结构中介词（by）是不应该被省略的。所以A必错。
其次，it的指代有歧义，因此BE选项补出了body heat，说明这是一个考点。
再次，如果有人说E中instead of有连接the sun和body heat的歧义，只能说明对instead of的用法还不理解。这里没有from就证明比较的对象是their body heat和body heat。

这个逻辑结构明显与前半段不平行。it指代不清.如果要按平行推的话，最多it只能指代the SUN,但句意不对
反而论平行D倒是比较像，除了for不太好。
