judge bonham denied a motion to allow members of the jury to go home at the end of each day instead of to confine them to a hotel.

白勇说A错在allow jury to confine themseves to a hotel 逻辑意思不合理。为何不能理解成a motion to confine them to a hotel?这样不是挺合理的？

1.to confine them to a hotel此句中应该与to go home对应. 所以rather than并列更合适.(而instead of是不是应接v-ing更合适?)

2.此句中,confine的动作发出者不是memebers自己,所以用to confine them错误.逻辑错误.(同样,to go home的动作发出者是members自己)也就是说:sth.+V+Sb.+to do.中的Sb.应该是to do.的逻辑主语.
