标题: Insead phone interview?
受到面试官信息，有一个竟然在印度，连一个校友朋友都觉得有些奇怪，新加坡不是有n多校友吗？看起来是要电话面试了。。

Sino, easy, usually they send out most of the invitations on the last day.

Rick, I dont think you will get a phone interview. Your interviewer is supposed to fly to where you are to have a face-face talk with you.

Yes sino, what I applied is R4 2007, not R1 2008, so don't worry. And btw, as inseadsh said, I did recieve the invitation on the last day.

Thanks Inseadsh, hard to imagine he will fly all the way here. Anyway, I'm going to call him soon, let's see how he will respond.

If the assigned alumni are not located in your region, can you apply to change? It will take some time at least. E.g. I was in Moscow when applying, but now has relocated to Shenzhen...

No, they don't.

One of my interviewer's contact detail was out of date and the name they provide got a typo

Guess what I did?

I think INSEAD MBA coordinator should be very busy. No time for them to take break at all...

It will definitely be a YES. Ask the coordinator to change, if not satisfied, ask for change again, if still not satisfied, continue to ask for change... till you're happy. :-)

And I heard that you'll have to conduct two interviews, so in casef you are not perform strongly in one, try to use the 2nd chance!

Wow... I guess they asked alumni whether they are interested in conducting interviews long time ago, and they just assign someone that's close to your area and with similar background/aspiration ( in order to make a fair evaluation).

I always choose to avoid telephone interviews, since that's too hard to manager the atmosphere and steer the conversation...Face to face will be more impressive.

But I should remind you that since you are in R4, I guess it's better to finish the interviews as early as possible for adcom to make decisions... If June 8 is the decision release date, you should give them one week to make decision, 1 week to process the admission procedure, so you really should complete the interviews with in two weeks. :-) good luck!

thank you stringscn, the adcom also asked me to schedule the two interviews before May 25, leaving them two weeks for decision. That will hopefully not be a big problem as Singapore is so small .

btw, any suggestions on what to wear for the interviews? One of my interviewer is a business planning & strategy manager of a MNC, is it preferrable to wear a suit? Or shirt + tie? Or even shirt only? thanks buddies ..

Business casual is ok for such interview. No need to over-shine your feather.

Hi, Rick. I suggest you wear suit if you have the interview from Monday-Thursday. For other days, I think it should be fine if you wear biz casual.

At the end of the day, it will not hurt to show your seriousness upon the interview.

just confirmed, a lunch session on monday, and a 'formal' session on 10am friday. time to pick out my suit ..

I guess you need you suit whenever the interviews will happen, or whatever words, formal, informal, your interviewers use, or whatever background the interviewers might have.

It's more safe to over-shine in such moment, as inseadsh said, show your seriousness!
