"either Abigail .. ever had been" looks fishy. put it another way, the sentense would be like, "Abigail or Dolly had been shattered expectations", the passive here is not correct.

1.本题比较的是audacious or aucacity. 不是shattered expectations

2. 如短时间内难以判断第一点, 也可以看出had 后面不应为been, 应为 done.
