(1)正确答案(C). 我查了一下webster词典,locate并没有形容词词性啊,但是og解释说locate, reticent和suspicious是三个平行的形容词,不明白了~~

(2)如果把(E)选项加上一个that(如下),使locate和reticent平行；而found that SVO和and that SVO构成平行句，(E)选项可以算对吗？

the parallelism is not between locate, reticent and suspicious, is between difficult to locate, reticent, and suspicious, "locate" is a verb

既然是三者平行，为什么把前两者组成小并列再和第三个并列呢?另外三者都用系动词are, 在最后又补出不对，并列原则是要有都有，要没有都没有

其实我是想用SV+that SVO, that SVO, and that SVO这个结构；貌似我们都没理解对方的意思，可能我没领悟你的意思吧

这样的话你那个that前后的句子结构不平行吧，前面是find XX are XX to XX，后面是find XX are XX of XX

即使改了，E也不对，改后是

Federal authorities involved in the investigation have found that local witnesses are difficult to locate and reticent, and that they are suspicious of strangers

（1）逗号不应该有，

（2）they可能会指代不清？

明白了~~斑竹厉害呀，我忽略了这个问题^_^

(1)两个平行不用逗号连接：

XDF有一道平行的题:The report on the gross national product--the nation's total production of goods

　and services--showed that second-quarter inflation was somewhat lower than previously estimated and that

　the savings rate was slightly higher.

(2)从语法上来说，they既可以指authorities，也可以指witnesses，即使句意明显指witnesses．

　p.s.：但是我不同意silentkitty的说法，平行（不像比较结构）不用严格对仗吧．上面那个例子两句的结构就不同呀．

两个and有点拗口，因为local witnesses are = they are, it is wordy. 违反简洁原则。

在这个例子中，
The report on the gross national product--the nation's total production of goods

注意，that 后面的从句的主语和谓语都不同。

看了几遍终于看明白了,这里,difficult,reticent和suspicious是平行的，三形容词。。。

我的思路：首先that 引导的宾语从句是be系动词做谓语时，不能省略，可以筛选下C AND E。

其次,and 做连词链接两个并列的句子时，不能有逗号出现在其前或后，如果出现了逗号，则and 所连接的一定不是两个句子，只能是两个词或短语。所以E不正确。而C后面是个形容词短语，故选择C
