没提过的简单问题．

(A) far exceeds those that humans could consume

(B) exceeds by far those humans can consume

(C) far exceeds those humans are able to consume

(D) exceed by far those able to be consumed
by humans

(E) far exceed those that humans could consume

Choice E is best. The plural verb exceed agrees in number with its subject, amounts, 但是我好象在哪看到过:AMOUNT是修饰不可数名词的,更何况是THE AMOUNT 所以我首先就排除E,选A了.NN请关于这点解释下.谢谢

这条规则在GMAT中不适用，还有 amounts of phosphates

gmat中不考绝对的单复数，名字如果没有s，则单数；有s，则复数；另一种情况，遇到固定搭配，比如 a number of ，则考固定搭配的特殊用法,a number of是跟后面的名字的单复；

这里，the amount of 如果不是固定搭配，从amount的单复，用复；如果the amount of算固定搭配，从of后的单复，也用复。。。

所以这题中the amount of是不是固定搭配没影响
