答案是E,我的问题是为什么A不对啊?

A从语法上看好像没有错误的。但AE相比还是E更好。

A的outnumbering分词作伴随状语,伴随的是主句谓语动词were written,逻辑上有点说不通,被写的时候outnumber?应该是letters(写完的那一堆吧)outnumber...

另外,outnumbering前面还有两个分词结构beginning, ending,三个有并列的嫌疑,句子结构表达不太清楚。
