答案是E，我的问题是为什么A不对啊？

A从语法上看好像没有错误的。但AE相比还是E更好。

A的outnumbering分词作伴随状语，伴随的是主句谓语动词were written，逻辑上有点说不通，被写的时候outnumber？应该是letters（写完的那一堆吧）outnumber...

另外，outnumbering前面还有两个分词结构beginning, ending，三个有并列的嫌疑，句子结构表达不太清楚。

GMAC常用的手段就是在分词结构上作手脚，这题也是这样
