答案A，不明白的是为什么residents 是 culture一部分，这符合逻辑吗？不过别的也不太选的出。各位看看C除了罗嗦还有没有其他毛病？

culture cannot be modified by certain language-speaking. people can!
not any is wordy in GMAT, use no.
as for the second question, not clear, generally, I will pick out the mistakes in other choices, and use the way of elimination.

355题C，D的差别：如果是C，那么成了had not any support....如果使用not，那么前面的had就成了助动词，而不是实意动词了，那么后面的support就成了实意动词，那么时态就不对了。这个选项来看明显是错误的；
C中had no surpport...这样had是实意动词，support成了名词，用法正确，就像had no money一样
